“Back-end” refers to the server side of web development in which developers are primarily focused on how the website functions. Students learn coding languages in three primary areas: servers, applications, and databases. These languages include Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP.

Students participate in a capstone project where a server-side application is built demonstrating the skills learned in class. Industry-recognized certifications for each language learned can also be earned: Oracle Certified professional, and CPA.

Course Goals:
• Produce web applications using cutting-edge technologies
• Develop a developer mindset
• Apply best practices in Web design
• Create responsive, accessible, and appealing layouts
• Deploy your applications and work with cloud databases
• Create complex HTML forms with validations
• Use JavaScript variables, conditionals, loops, functions, arrays, and objects
• Write Javascript functions, and understand scope and higher order functions
• Use common JS data structures like Arrays and Objects
• Implement user authentication
• Use HTML to write, design, and style a web page
• Style web pages using CSS
• Program websites with JavaScript
• Add JavaScript code in your Website/Web app to easily debug issues
• How to make websites interactive
